The search service is active, but returns the error:
Unable to complete the search. The site is not assigned to an indexer. For more information, contact the Administrator
- Open SharePoint Central Administration / Application Management / Content databases / <Select the <database
- And go to:
"Select Windows SharePoint Services search server" - Select Server Search service (if installed on a single server, should propose only one option with the
server name).
