Configure VMware ESXi 4.1 for Active Directory Integration

Category: Technology - David Bombard @ 16:15

With version 4.1 VMware has finally introduced the ability to manage security is not based on the host and password and the local users to create and synchronize manually from one host to another, but based on Active Directory.

This synchrony is possible in several ways: vSphere client, vCLI, scripting or Host Profiles.

Let's see how to do through the vSphere Client.

1 Open the vSphere Client to the Configuration page

Select Properties

Select User Directory Services "Active Directory"

Select "Join Domain"

Select "Join Domain"

at the end you get a screen like this

Your server is now included in Active Directory in the "Permission" you can add not only users but also from your local Active Directory

VSphere 4.1: USB pass-through and VMotion

Category: Technology - David Bombard @ 14:05

ESX 4.1 introduces the ability to have the pass-through of 'usb from the physical server to a virtual machine while maintaining the connection even if the machine is moved with VMotion to another host

Will I lose the connection to the host device if the host is turned off for this still need the USB device that remotizano.

We think, however, may be going to create a host with VMware paving feature only orte USB and vCenter what do you think?
